Job Description

The Senior, User Experience Design shapes the user experience for Macys.com, the Macy’s app, and Macy’s retail stores, bringing Macy’s strategic vision to life through impactful digital designs. This role requires at least 5 years of experience in digital design and emphasizes creating high-quality designs in a collaborative environment. The Senior UX Designer must balance business objectives with user needs, collaborate across teams, and use research and data to drive design decisions. Additionally, this role involves mentoring team members and performing other assigned duties.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in a related field.
• 5+ years of UX/UI design experience across consumer mobile applications, websites, or retail stores.
• Proficiency in user-centered design principles and methodologies.
• Ability to create high-fidelity mockups, prototypes, and storyboards.
• Experience in cross-functional collaboration with product managers, engineers, and researchers.
• Strong project management and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Business acumen to balance user needs with business objectives.
• Advanced knowledge of design tools (e.g., Figma).
• Strong negotiation skills to advocate for design solutions.
• Adaptability and problem-solving skills to navigate a fast-paced environment.
• Familiarity with MS Office programs and digital design best practices.
