Job Description

Join the Communications and Marketing team as a Freelance Graphic Designer to help visually communicate the impact and importance of our programs and services. We are looking for a creative professional who can independently produce dynamic, brand-aligned visuals that resonate with our audiences and elevate our messaging across digital and print platforms.

• Freelance, remote-based role.
• Approximately 10–15 hours per week, with flexibility around project needs and deadlines.
• Availability to attend 2-3 weekly recurring meetings during business hours and occasional client consultations when needed.

Responsibilities

• Develop professional-quality print and digital assets for a wide range of Student Affairs programs and initiatives.
• Apply brand guidelines to ensure consistency and scalability across campaigns, while bringing fresh, creative solutions to projects.
• Translate creative direction into production-ready files for digital, print, and event use.
• Collaborate with staff to refine concepts, while managing multiple projects and delivering on deadlines.
• Create designs that consider accessibility best practices to ensure inclusivity across platforms.

Qualifications

• A minimum of 2 years experience.
• Proven experience in professional graphic design (freelance or agency experience preferred).
• Proficiency in design software, including Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign).
• Strong understanding of design principles, typography, and color theory.
• Understanding of accessible design practices, including use of style sheets and exporting from design programs to meet accessibility standards.
• Ability to manage production workflows and efficiently create scalable assets.
• Experience working with brand systems and style guidelines.
• Knowledge of accessible design practices preferred.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work independently.
