Job Description

Modern Campus empowers over 1,700 higher education institutions to thrive in response to challenges such as lower student enrollments, rising costs, and administrative complexity. The organization offers a learner-to-earner lifecycle platform that enhances web content management, messaging, curriculum management, and student engagement.

The role is for a UI Designer (contract) who will work within the Design Studio team, collaborating with the Director of Design and other leaders to deliver products and features that align with corporate strategy and delight customers. Responsibilities include advocating for the user, applying user-centered design principles, providing visual design details, managing the design process, and conducting research to stay updated with emerging technologies and design standards.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Visual Design, Human Technology Interaction, Computer Science, or Computer Programming and relevant experience.
• 3+ years of UI design experience for web and mobile solutions or front-end development.
• Proven UI experience with a strong portfolio showcasing design skills.
• Expertise in standard UX software tools, such as Sketch, Figma, InVision, Photoshop, and Illustrator.
• A solid understanding of user-centered design (UCD), user research, user testing, rapid prototyping, heuristic analysis, and usability/accessibility concerns. Experience with Design Systems is desired.
• Basic understanding of HTML and CSS concepts.
• Strong passion for UX and other design areas, with a focus on delivering excellent customer experiences.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Additional Information

• This is a 12-month contract position; you will be an Independent Consultant with your own company setup.
• The base hourly pay range for this position is between $28 - $43.
• This is a remote-first workplace; candidates must be located in North America.
