Job Description
Position Title: Instructional Assistant - Art & Design (Part Time, Temporary Hourly, Non-Benefited)
Classification Title: Temporary PT Hourly
Hourly Rate: $30/hour
Campus Location: Bend
Primary Purpose: The Instructional Assistant will serve as an instructional and lab assistant within the Art & Design Department, supporting students in digital art techniques such as digital illustration, graphic design, user experience/interface design, and digital photography/videography. This role includes preparing and maintaining labs, assisting with classroom instruction, evaluations, and administrative tasks like organizing supplies and aiding in grading and feedback.
Requirements
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Prepare, organize, and clean the digital art lab environments.
- Assist faculty with demonstrations and evaluations of student work.
- Maintain records of student progress and course materials.
- Reinforce knowledge introduced by the instructor in digital art techniques.
- Assist with copying and organizing class materials.
- Help set up and break down special projects or workshops.
- Assist with student and workforce communication.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Proficiency in digital art software, including Adobe Creative Suite.
- Ability to troubleshoot software and hardware issues.
- Knowledge of digital art techniques.
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work with diverse student populations.
- Collaborative, team-oriented with a proactive attitude.
Minimum Requirements
Education:
- Associate’s degree or Certificate of Completion in Digital Art, Graphic Design, Fine Arts, or a related field.
Experience:
- Experience with graphic design and digital photography, along with a portfolio showcasing relevant skills.

Preferred Qualifications
Bilingual fluency in English and Spanish, and experience working in a diverse multicultural setting are considered a plus.
Additional Information
Open Until Filled: Yes. The position is temporary, part-time, flexible with potential night and weekend hours. Regular office hours are established between 8 am – 5 pm during the workweek. The role involves sedentary work and may require occasional lifting up to 25 lbs.
