Job Description

The Vancouver Athletic Football Club (VAFC), one of the largest youth soccer clubs in Vancouver with over 3,000 participants, is seeking qualified individuals for contracted Social Media Manager services. The role involves generating, editing, publishing, and moderating original social media content across VAFC platforms, and providing graphic design support. The individual will capture content, engage with club members for content provision, coordinate with influencers, assist in creating the club’s monthly newsletter, enhance website content, and promote programs and events. Availability for occasional evenings or weekends for games, tournaments, and events is required.

Requirements

Interested candidates should submit:

• Proposed monthly rate (for ~40 hours/month).
• Relevant experience, especially with amateur sports, youth organizations, or nonprofits.
• Portfolio or examples of past social media accounts, posts, newsletters, or websites managed.
• Availability for the contract term, including evenings/weekends as needed.

Term & Hours

The contracted position averages 40 hours per month with varying hours based on the season and event schedule. The initial contract term is for 6 months with potential renewal. This is an independent contractor arrangement (not an employee position).

Reporting

The Social Media Manager will report to the VAFC Executive Director and liaise with the Board as needed.
