Job Description

Diet Paratha, the leading agency & network for the best in global South Asian culture, is hiring an agile and culturally competent Social Media Manager/Content Writer to help shape our fast-growing digital presence across platforms. This Mid-Senior role is open to anyone with the right experience, and you don’t have to be South Asian to apply.

Requirements

• Proficiency in a chronically online tone of voice, with the ability to quickly adapt content to fit platform-specific nuances.
• Adeptness in utilizing digital tools without sole reliance on ChatGPT and quick-wittedness.
• Strong digital literacy across TikTok and Instagram.
• Comprehensive understanding of past and present internet culture and current trends.
• Good eye for layout with relevant experience in design programs like InDesign or Figma.
• Excellent time management skills.
• Knowledge of global South Asian culture & talent.
• Mobile video editing capabilities (CapCut).
• Strong proofreading and editing skills.
• Ability to distill press releases into engaging content without missing key details.
• Reporting and insights skills, leveraging past learnings to inform new strategies.
• Clear, collaborative, and confident communication skills.
• Problem-solving approach through conversation, not confrontation.
• 3-4+ years of experience in a similar role at a publication/platform like Dazed or Highsnobiety, with examples of your work.

Extra Information

This is a freelance role, ideally located in East London (in-house, 2 days a week with potential to extend remotely). Candidates will need their own Macbook and iPhone as the team relies on Airdrop for efficiency. A literacy test will be part of the application process.
