Start Date: December 2025

We are a start-up signage fabrication and installation company specializing in custom indoor and outdoor signs, including channel letters, light boxes, pylons, wayfinding, and architectural signage in and around New York City. We’re looking for a talented freelance graphic designer who can produce accurate shop drawings for our fabrication team.

Responsibilities

  • Create detailed shop drawings based on client-approved designs or sketches.
  • Prepare fabrication-ready drawings including dimensions, materials, mounting details, and section views.
  • Convert architectural or design files (PDF/DWG/AI) into shop-ready artwork.
  • Collaborate with the project manager to ensure accuracy and meet deadlines.
  • Make revisions as needed to comply with fabrication and installation requirements.

Requirements

  • Proven experience creating shop drawings for signage or architectural fabrication.
  • Strong knowledge of Adobe Illustrator, AutoCAD, or CorelDRAW.
  • Understanding of materials like acrylic, aluminum, vinyl, LED modules, and mounting systems.
  • Ability to read architectural drawings and translate design intent into fabrication documents.
  • Attention to detail and strong communication skills.

Preferred

  • Experience with UL sign standards or local sign codes.
  • Familiarity with production methods (laser cutting, routing, bending, etc.).
  • Ability to provide quick turnarounds.
  • Adobe Certified Professional
  • Autodesk Certified
