Job Description

As our Social Media Content Creator at Slate, you will lead social content creation efforts for Re:Car and report directly to the Head of Social. You will be the primary owner and creator of social content, incorporating the latest trends, filters, sounds, and formats into your approach. Your work will encompass organic social, paid campaigns, influencer partnerships, and more.

Responsibilities

• Understand our brand ethos and collaborate with the marketing organization to test new ideas and concepts.
• Stay updated on changing social media trends and cultural references.
• Pitch innovative social ideas to the marketing team.
• Conceptualize, film, edit, and create engaging content for social platforms such as TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, and Reddit.
• Shoot high-quality audio, video, and stills, ensuring exceptional composition, lighting, and clarity.
• Work closely with the creative and production teams to execute content that aligns with brand standards.
• Draft copy for social posts in collaboration with the creative department.
• Perform video editing and photo retouching.
• Manage and organize digital assets for efficient workflow and accessibility.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, or a related field.
• 5-7 years of experience in video content creation for social media at a consumer-facing brand or agency.
• In-depth knowledge of social media platforms, algorithms, and trends.
• Passion for staying updated on emerging social media and digital content trends.
• Keen eye for design/art direction, leveraging props and styling.
• Collaborative work ethic with experience in creating various types of content.
• Experience in shooting and lighting video content and still photography.
• Proficiency in Adobe, Canva, Capcut, and other editing and design software.
• Comfortable stepping in as talent, if needed.
• Able to work in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple projects with hard deadlines.
• Demonstrated ability to adapt brand voices and visual identities to videos.
• Strong project management skills from ideation to production and post-delivery.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong attention to detail.
• Self-starter with a positive attitude.
• Willingness to work on-site several days a week and travel for content shoots.
• A genuine enjoyment for cars.
