Job Description
District Consulting is a boutique marketing and communications firm supporting private and government clients across B2C and public sector initiatives. Weโre known for high-quality creative, data-driven strategy, and strong partnerships with diverse small businesses. We are building a bench of Graphic Designers to support client projects across print and digital formats. Our clients range from government agencies and nonprofits to consumer-focused businesses. This role plays a key part in producing visually compelling assets that drive impact and align with brand and accessibility standards. Designers should be comfortable collaborating with internal and client teams, managing tight timelines, and proactively supporting print production when needed. This role is ideal for a creative who thrives in a fast-paced environment, can self-manage assignments, and has strong attention to detail.
Responsibilities
- Design high-quality print and digital assets, including brochures, social graphics, reports, event materials, ads, and signage.
- Translate creative briefs and content outlines into clear, strategic visual designs.
- Support occasional light web or digital layout design (e.g., social templates, email banners, light web mockups).
- Prepare press-ready files and liaise with vendors on specs, proofing, and production timelines.
- Maintain brand consistency across all deliverables and ensure files meet ADA and WCAG accessibility standards when required.
- Collaborate with copywriters, project managers, and clients to refine and finalize designs.
- Organize and label design files clearly within shared folders for internal and client access.
Requirements
- 3โ6 years of professional experience in graphic design (agency, in-house, or freelance).
- Strong portfolio of work across print and digital formats - social media, flyers, reports, and marketing collateral.
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud, particularly InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop.
- Experience preparing print files and managing vendor-ready deliverables.
- Understanding of accessibility and compliance standards (ADA, WCAG) in visual design.
- Comfortable receiving and incorporating feedback from both creative leads and client stakeholders.
- Strong time management and organizational skills to juggle multiple assignments and deadlines.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with Canva, Figma, or Adobe XD for templated/quick-turnaround work.
- Familiarity with working within shared project tools (ClickUp, Slack, or similar).
- Experience supporting government or nonprofit design projects.
- Comfort engaging directly with print vendors or client-side project leads when needed.
