Job Description

The Florida Department of Corrections is seeking a Graphic Designer for a temporary position located in Central Office, Tallahassee, FL, within the Office of Communications. The mission of the Office of Communications is to provide clear, accurate, and timely information to the public, media, and stakeholders. This position requires in-office attendance and is not available for telework.

Job Duties

• Designs and prepares graphics for social media, brochures, reports, booklets, and pamphlets.
• Takes photographs and videos of departmental activities including live scenes, portraits, and exhibits.
• Assists in the reproduction of graphic material.
• Develops formatting and graphic elements for internal communications and educational materials.
• Communicates with team members regarding layout and design.
• Maintains a system for tracking project progress to meet deadlines.
• Assists in the development of plans, presentations, studies, and reports.
• Coordinates with the Department’s web team.
• Performs other related duties as assigned by the Director of Communications.

Requirements

Please note that official transcripts will be required if selected for this position.

• Must possess a high school diploma or its equivalent.
• Must be proficient in Adobe Creative Cloud and other graphic design programs.
• Must have two (2) years of experience in multimedia design. Postsecondary education may substitute experience on a year-for-year basis.
