Job Description

LZR Prints is seeking a 1099 contractor to take ownership of our social media, digital content, and light brand management. This role offers the option to learn laser engraving and sublimation workflows hands-on over time. The ideal candidate will have significant creative autonomy and flexibility in their work hours, provided deadlines are met. This position is well-suited for a creator who enjoys engaging communities and producing content that drives conversions, all while helping a growing Central Texas studio to scale.

Key Responsibilities

Creative & Social Media (Primary)

• Plan, create, and publish content on Instagram and Facebook, including short-form video, product spotlights, behind-the-scenes, and client features.
• Engage with clients and prospects via comments and DMs; escalate qualified leads while maintaining a friendly, responsive tone aligned with brand guidelines.
• Own the content calendar (cadence, themes, approvals) and report performance insights weekly.
• Design digital assets (graphics, reel covers, story frames) using Canva and optional tools like Inkscape or Silhouette Studio when helpful.
• Collaborate on website updates in Squarespace (basic page edits, copy updates, image uploads) and suggest content improvements.

Operations & Learning (Optional Growth Path)

• Shadow and learn laser engraving and sublimation printing basics using Sculptfun and Fancier Studio equipment.
• Assist with simple production tasks, materials prep, and shop organization as needed.
• Help coordinate small administrative requests (setting appointments, sending emails, organizing assets).

Top Outcomes (First 60–90 Days)

• Publish 3–5 posts weekly with a consistent content calendar and brand voice.
• Create 6–10 short-form videos that showcase products or processes, optimized for IG Reels/Facebook.
• Increase engagement rate (comments + likes + shares) by a proposed target; report weekly metrics.
• Establish a simple style guide (colors, fonts, voice notes) and reusable Canva templates for repeatable content.
• Improve lead capture from social platforms (clear CTAs, DM scripts, link-in-bio flow) and handoff qualified leads.
• Optional: Learn foundational shop SOPs for laser/sublimation operations.

Requirements

Must-Have

• Experience creating and publishing social content, with examples or a portfolio (personal, freelance, or brand work).
• Basic proficiency with photo/video editing; willingness to learn Squarespace updates.
• Strong communication and community engagement skills; comfortable managing DMs and comments.
• Reliability with deadlines and clarity in progress updates.

Nice-to-Have

• Familiarity or interest in LightBurn, Inkscape, Silhouette Studio, or similar design software.
• Exposure to “maker” culture, print/crafts, or product storytelling.
• Experience with simple analytics (engagement, reach, CTR) and using insights to iterate.

Schedule & Location

• Remote first with complete flexibility; typical collaboration windows are weekdays after 5pm and weekends but work when you’re most effective.
• Optional on-site learning in Cedar Park, TX for hands-on experience with laser/sublimation equipment.

Compensation

• Project-based contracts with 50% upfront and 50% on completion via agreed milestones.
• Performance incentives for direct sales attributable to your content or campaigns.
• Hourly support available for day-to-day admin/content tasks when not on a major project.
• Note: This is a 1099 contractor role. You’re responsible for your own taxes, benefits, and equipment unless otherwise agreed.

Safety & Physical Requirements (For Optional On-Site Work)

• Training provided for equipment safety, PPE (eye/hand protection), and ventilation best practices when observing or assisting.
• Ability to stand for periods and handle light materials; lifting up to ~30lbs may be requested occasionally.
• Follow posted SOPs and request approval before operating any machinery.
