Job Description

The UI/UX Analyst is responsible for establishing the overall application look and feel as well as designing, communicating, and executing all user interface screens for each business requirement. The UI/UX Analyst directs the overall user experience for interacting with the delivered product. This role works closely with the Business Analyst and Technical Lead in the delivery of solutions that meet or exceed customer requirements.

Job Duties:

• Works directly with project team including business analysts, business owners, solution architects, tech leads, developers, and QA to ensure understanding of the requirements, functionality, size, scalability, and usability of the IT solution.
• Examines existing business processes and systems with the Business Analyst to develop a full representation of the system’s interface design and usability.
• Participates in requirement gathering meetings, Joint Application Modeling (JAM) sessions, and brainstorm sessions to identify product usability concerns.
• Analyzes current user flow and pain points to deliver appropriate solutions.
• Leads the overall visual design and usability of the product.
• Provides expertise and guides the project team through design patterns, screen layout decisions, and usability testing.
• Acts as an advocate for the end user, consistently seeking to improve design and usability as budgets allow.
• Creates sketches, wireframes, and mockups of user interface screens adhering to SOM Look & Feel Standards and ADA requirements.
• Creates high-fidelity functioning prototypes when feasible.
• Reviews wireframes with the Business Analyst and Technical Lead for requirements and feasibility before presenting to the business.
• Guides the development team on UI/UX best practices and accessibility remediation.
• Ensures conformance to State of Michigan Look & Feel Standards.
• Conducts usability testing to align with UI/UX best practices.
• Performs accessibility testing for ADA compliance.
• Creates and facilitates usability tests with intended users to iterate screen designs.
• Advises developers on accessibility requirements.
• Serves as liaison to DTMB Center for Shared Solutions (CSS) eMichigan team.

Requirements

• Experience with wireframing and prototyping tools (Figma, Sketch, or equivalent).
• Experience with design systems and reusable components.
• Experience leading user workshops and facilitating sessions.
• Experience with quantitative results-driven design techniques such as A/B testing.
• Familiarity with accessibility standards and best practices.
• Experience with information architecture.
• Working knowledge of CSS preprocessors (SASS/LESS).

Desired Skills

• Working knowledge of Java/.net.

Minimum Education

• Bachelor’s Degree.

Location

• Local candidates preferred; non-local candidates must be willing to relocate at their own expense without delay & follow the hybrid schedule.
• Position has a hybrid schedule with onsite work from day 1, two days a week; NO REMOTE ONLY OPTION.
• Working hours are Monday-Friday, approximately 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Additional Requirements

• Must be authorized to work in the United States; sponsorships are not available.
• Must undergo a background check and drug screening for employment.

Employment Terms

• This is a W2 position.
• 40 hours per week.
• HYBRID schedule - onsite from day 1, two days a week; NO REMOTE ONLY OPTION.
