Job Description
Graphics Designer
The Graphics Designer is responsible for conceptualizing, designing, writing, and producing graphic design material, including but not limited to newsletters, brochures, logos, exhibits, displays, PowerPoint presentations, reports, publications, and web graphics. The designer creates stimulating visuals and presentations to educate and inform stakeholders.
Performance of the duties requires knowledge of traditional graphic arts principles, project and production management, and excellent communication and computer skills.
Major Duties and Responsibilities
- Work with the Communications team to promote US Army programs and initiatives; assist with building a family of communication materials that follow Army branding guidelines.
- Research and brainstorm with team members to create innovative ideas and solutions.
- Design and produce a wide variety of design and visual communication materials, including flyers, eblasts, posters, banners, brochures, logos, newsletters, postcards, booklets, billboard displays, apparel, vehicle and workspace projects, environmental design, trade show signage, charts, and other promotional and display items.
- Assist with updating the Communications Manual and providing website input.
- Work with the Communications team to select and edit photos for communications campaigns as needed.
- Perform other related duties as required.
Requirements
Knowledge of traditional graphic arts principles, project and production management, excellent communication skills, and computer skills are required. Specific qualifications may not be listed but are implied through the various responsibilities associated with the role.
