Job Description

This is a remote position. The Graphic Designer works as part of the Web Development Team and reports to the Team Manager. His specific tasks include:

• Designing web pages, brochures, logos, signs, books, magazine covers, annual reports, advertisements, and other communication materials.
• Creating materials by hand or using technology, including computer software programs like Adobe’s Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, etc.).
• Meeting with web designers to understand their vision for proposed web pages and incorporating illustrations, pictures, and designs to reflect the desired theme and tone.
• Selecting type size and style to enhance readability.
• Producing drafts for client review and making revisions based on feedback.
• Reviewing final productions for errors and ensuring final prints meet client specifications.
• Conceptualizing visuals based on requirements and preparing rough drafts.
• Developing illustrations, logos, and designs using software, ensuring appropriate colors and layouts for graphics.
• Collaborating with copywriters and the creative director to produce the final design and amending designs after feedback.
• Posting content to various Web 2.0 platforms and logging posts to spreadsheets.
• Creating multimedia content for various internal and external projects.
• Scripting, storyboarding, budgeting, allocating resources, and selecting optimal media forms for projects.
• Recording and editing video and sound projects, managing media, and ensuring a visually appealing final product.
• Other tasks as assigned.

Requirements

• 3 years of experience as a graphics designer or in a similar role.
• Mastery of graphic design software such as Photoshop, Illustrator, Adobe Premier Pro, etc.
• Knowledge of video and audio editing software programs is a big plus.
• Solid knowledge of design and visual principles.
• Demonstrated portfolio showing creative, design, and software skills.
• Ability to evaluate choices critically, with the customer’s needs in mind.
• Ability to communicate design choices clearly.
• Ability to take and follow directions, while also having a creative eye for improvements.
• Good time-management skills.
• Great interpersonal and communication skills.
• Great multi-tasking skills and ability to work under pressure.
• General understanding of computers and digital equipment and knowledge of new and cutting-edge technology.
