About the client
Consuelo left her IT Project Management career to complete a Creative Writing MA at the University of Cape Town. Her MA thesis became her debut novel. The Good Cemetery Guide, set in the fishing village of Kalk Bay and based on extensive research, was short-listed for the Sunday Times Fiction Prize (2007). Its popularity spread by word-of-mouth and some excellent reviews, resulting in it being selected by readers (email poll) as one of 30 Centre for the Book’s ‘must read’ South African Books. Consuelo has had short stories and poetry published. In 2024 The Good Cemetery Guide was re-issued in a second edition published by Karavan Press. Her subsequent novels, part of the Limbo trilogy, have been picked up by Catalyst Press (US publisher) in a hybrid publishing deal, and will be rebranded for a North American and international market. The marketing project is intended to support the marketing and sales campaign around her novels.
