Job Description
The Community Management Contractor at the American Cancer Society will engage and interact with consumers on social media platforms including Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and TikTok. This role involves facilitating personal connections between the ACS Making Strides Against Breast Cancer / Relay for Life accounts and their followers, maintaining conversations across mission priorities, and capturing storytelling opportunities within the ACS community. The contractor will monitor cancer conversations and trends, relaying important information back to the organization. This is a fully remote position available anywhere within the U.S., and proficiency in Spanish is preferred.
Requirements
Essential Functions:
- Community Management: Lead community management and response on major social media platforms, ensuring authentic brand voice and effective execution.
- Practice best-in-class community management to ensure accurate response, timing, and content delivery.
- Maintain swift reaction time, prioritizing conversations based on topic.
- Deliver exceptional customer service in collaboration with the National Cancer Information Center and social engagement team.
Social Listening and Real-Time Engagement: Spearhead proactive engagement strategy, identifying trends and sourcing stories within the cancer community.
- Execute outreach to the ACS and cancer community for storytelling.
- Build relationships with donors and fundraisers through social channels.
- Identify content trends and propose new audience growth opportunities.
- Compile and deliver timely social listening reports with actionable insights.
- Source and manage approval/review process for User Generated Content.
Position Requirements:
- Formal Knowledge: Experience in community management, social media or digital communication, and familiarity with social media management tools is necessary.
- Competencies/Specialized Training: Personal commitment to Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) with an understanding of issues related to DEI.
Overall Contract Commitment:
- Hours: 10-12 hours/week
- Timeframe: 6 months
Starting compensation is between $40.00 to $45.00 per hour, which will depend on the candidate’s experience and skills.
