Job Description

The Social Media Executive will be responsible for the real-time execution and strategic growth of our US Sports social media presence, covering NFL, NBA, MLB, NASCAR, NHL, College Sports, Olympics (USA focus), Golf, and IndyCar.

Key Responsibilities

• Content Management & Execution: Help manage and execute content strategies for multiple US Sports social media accounts (e.g., X, Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, etc.).
• Real-Time Coverage: Analyze breaking news, validate information, and execute real-time content delivery and updates across all platforms, ensuring immediate response to major events, games, and developments in the sports world.
• Content Creation: Write compelling, on-brand text and captions (copywriting) for various social networks to maximize engagement and virality.
• Strategic Planning: Plan, develop, and produce regular content buckets and series, aligning social output with overarching editorial goals.
• Traffic Generation: Actively work to grow the company’s website traffic and brand presence through highly engaging US Sports content distributed on social media.
• Coordination & Compliance: Coordinate seamlessly with the editorial and design teams to ensure no critical content is missed, and all posts adhere strictly to company guidelines and voice.
• Competitive Analysis: Continuously analyze competitor strategies, media trends, and platform algorithms to identify new growth opportunities.

Requirements

• Required Professional Experience: Maximum 2 years of professional experience in Social Media Management OR Sports Content Writing/Journalism.
• Proven Sports Knowledge: MUST HAVE demonstrated proven sports knowledge of the covered leagues/events.
• Copywriting Expertise: MUST HAVE EXPERIENCE in high-impact caption writing and compelling copywriting for fast-paced social media environments.
• Advanced level of English (Written and Spoken) with excellent spelling and writing proficiency.
• Thorough understanding of current social media platforms, trends, and analytics.
• Basic knowledge of digital marketing and SEO principles as they relate to social traffic.
• A reliable personal computer setup with consistent, high-speed internet access is required for remote work.

Sports Knowledge

• Expert Sports Knowledge: MUST HAVE EXPERT KNOWLEDGE of ONE of the following major leagues: NFL, NBA, MLB, NHL, or NCAA College Sports.
• Broad Sports Understanding: Must possess a strong, working knowledge of the rules, major teams, key players, current storylines, and history of some of the covered USA Sports (NFL, NBA, MLB, NASCAR, NHL, College Sports, Olympics, Golf, IndyCar).
• Ability to quickly adapt and execute content for diverse sports fan bases.
