Job Description

The Graphic Designer is responsible for the design of print collateral that supports the company’s overall communication and marketing plan. They should possess an excellent sense of design principles, layout, and typography, along with a strong graphic eye and attention to detail. The designer must be highly organized and able to work independently under tight deadlines. A background in designing packaging is a plus.

Key responsibilities include:

• Expert skills in Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, and Acrobat.
• Uncompromising eye for detail, color, composition, and typography.
• Design, comp, preflight, and produce company catalogs for Retail and Wholesale divisions, labels, packaging, marketing collateral, trade and consumer print ads, signage, brochures, and posters.
• Develop and prepare digital pre-press material, including graphic files, camera-ready art, and Internet-ready artwork.
• Review proofs and final materials with precise detail when received from printer.
• Adhere to brand guidelines and collaborate with the direct supervisor and Creative Director on enhancements and updates.
• Work well within a collaborative team environment.
• Manage concurrent projects and stay on schedule.
• Print and cut large format collateral, and internally printed labels as needed.
• Travel to attend press checks when necessary.

Requirements

1. B.A. in graphic design with a minimum of 3+ years of related experience, demonstrating a working knowledge of layout, including type and photography, along with strong prepress knowledge.

2. Strong computer skills with proficiency in InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Acrobat, and Microsoft Office on Mac OS, as well as basic knowledge and skill in web design. Must be able to work in “CMYK” multilayered Photoshop files.

3. Ability to take a project from concept through final production with strong time management, communication, and problem-solving skills.

4. Must be able to generate professional-level packaging mockups for both internal and external use.

5. Highly organized, self-motivated, and detail-oriented with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team and to remain creative under tight deadlines with multiple projects.

Additional Information

Pay: $35.00 - $55.00 per hour

Expected hours: 10.0 – 15.0 per week
