Duck Foot Brewing Company, based in San Diego, CA, is seeking a Graphic Designer with strong illustration skills and experience in apparel graphics. The ideal candidate understands the transition from design to wearable items and enjoys creating eye-catching illustrations that enhance the brand experience. The role involves working on brewery merchandise and has the potential for designs related to beer-label packaging and event promotions. We are looking for a long-term freelance creative partner.

Key Responsibilities

• Create original, illustration-forward designs for:
• Brewery merchandise - T-shirts, Hoodies, Hats, Stickers, etc.
• Potential for Beer can labels and event promotional material
• Collaborate with our team on creative concepts, themes, and visual direction for new releases
• Adapt designs for different formats (print, digital, mockups) as needed
• Prepare production-ready files for screen printing and can printing
• Revise and refine designs based on feedback
• Maintain visual consistency while evolving the brand over time

Requirements

• Proven experience designing apparel graphics (+ canned beverage packaging and event collateral a plus)
• Strong illustration skills
• Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and related design tools
• Solid understanding of print production (screen printing, color separations, bleeds, etc.)
• Ability to create artwork that is both artistic and trend-forward
• Comfortable working independently and meeting agreed-upon deadlines
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills
• Strong Preference For Candidates Who:
• Identify primarily as an illustrator, not just a graphic designer
• Have experience working with breweries, beverage brands, or apparel companies
• Are excited to contribute creatively over a long-term partnership

Compensation

• Paid on a per-project basis. Rates are negotiable and based on experience, illustration complexity, and production requirements. Open to discussing fair rates that work for both parties.
