Freelance Graphic Designer – Fujikura Golf

Location: Carlsbad, CA - Hybrid

Type: Freelance / Contract

Hours: Minimum 15 hours per week with opportunity to exceed

We’re looking for a freelance graphic designer to join our creative team and help bring compelling visual stories to life. This role is ideal for a designer who not only has strong design fundamentals but is also a creative thinker who enjoys collaborating, sharing ideas, and pushing concepts forward. The ideal candidate is equally comfortable working independently, owning projects from conception through execution, while also thriving in a collaborative team environment. A genuine passion for golf and an understanding of the game, its culture, and its audience is key. This is a hybrid freelance opportunity in our Carlsbad office, with the flexibility to work on site as needed, and remotely the rest of the time. We guarantee a minimum of 15 hours per week, with room for additional hours based on project needs.

Responsibilities

• Design high‑quality visual assets across digital and print channels, including social media, marketing campaigns, web assets, presentations, merchandise products, and sales materials.
• Collaborate closely with the marketing and creative teams, contributing new ideas and creative solutions.
• Bring fresh perspectives to projects while maintaining strong brand consistency.
• Support product launches, brand initiatives, and seasonal campaigns.
• Manage multiple projects simultaneously with strong organization and attention to detail.
• Work independently to meet deadlines while staying aligned with team priorities.
• Participate in creative reviews and collaborate in‑person during weekly office days.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a graphic designer (freelance or in‑house) with a strong, well‑rounded portfolio.
• Comprehensive understanding of key design element needs related to each platform placement (programmatic, paid social, homepage banner, etc.).
• Understanding of design trends and latest tools to efficiently and effectively build content.
• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign; motion or video skills are a plus).
• Strong knowledge of golf and a genuine passion for the game.
• A creative thinker who enjoys problem-solving and bringing new ideas to the table.
• Highly collaborative, with strong communication skills and openness to feedback.
• A self‑starter who works well independently and takes ownership of projects.
• Exceptionally organized, with the ability to manage timelines, assets, and multiple workstreams.
• Comfortable working in a hybrid setup, requiring commutes to our Carlsbad office for onsite days.
• Bonus: Experience with studio and/or lifestyle photography.

Additional Information

This role requires a minimum commitment of 15 hours per week, with the opportunity to take on additional hours based on project needs.
