Job Description

We are seeking a dynamic and creative Freelance Social Media Manager + Content Creator to join our vibrant team in the Santa Barbara area. This role includes end-to-end social media management, with a focus on creating short-form video content for Instagram Reels. The ideal candidate has experience managing restaurant, bar, or hospitality social media accounts and is comfortable capturing social-first content on-site.

Professional photography is provided for the account, with content capture focused primarily on Reels and short-form video.

Requirements

• Experience managing social media for restaurants, bars, hotels, or hospitality brands
• Based in the Santa Barbara area and available for occasional on-site visits
• Experience managing brand social media accounts end-to-end
• Strong copywriting skills and ability to write engaging captions
• Strong understanding of Instagram and short-form video trends
• Comfortable capturing video content in low-light restaurant environments
• Own equipment capable of capturing high-quality vertical video (camera or professional mobile setup)
• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage deadlines and approvals

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day social media execution for a hospitality client
• Build posts using professional photography, client-provided assets, and short-form video content
• Write captions and develop social copy aligned with brand voice
• Schedule posts and manage approvals through HeyOrca
• Coordinate with the RockawayMore team on content calendars and strategy
• Participate in occasional client calls and internal team check-ins
• Capture short-form video content optimized for Instagram Reels during periodic on-site visits
• Film menu highlights, cocktails, atmosphere, and guest experience moments
• Deliver organized video assets following each shoot

Estimated Time Commitment

Approximately 20–40 hours per month, depending on content cadence and on-site content capture.
