Job Description

At Wandering Designs, we transform art to make it part of people’s homes and hobbies. We do this by converting artwork from local artists onto everyday items such as fabrics, puzzles, stationary, and more. We’re a startup company that values helping people grow, creating community, and inspiring creativity.

This is an independent contractor position. As a contractor, you will be responsible for your own taxes and work equipment. You will receive a 1099 form at the end of the tax year for income reporting. The primary project involves converting digital artwork to meet product specifications, and the secondary project involves marketing support tasks. The conversions range between simple photo edits to more complex modifications needed to create repeat patterns. Marketing tasks will mostly be creating graphics for the website, social media, and helping to plan the campaign calendar.

Requirements

Qualifications:

• Education: Graphic Design degree or certification preferred, or other design field.
• Experience: Preferably 1 year of experience working with Photoshop and/or other design tools. Experience working with the design platform Canva is also a plus.

Skills:

• Know how to create a repeat pattern from an existing image.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Understand marketing basics.
• Able to create graphics and branding elements for digital and in-person marketing.
• Will need to have own computer and reliable internet.

Key Responsibilities

• Digitally converting and modifying artworks into repeat patterns and making modifications to the digital artwork as needed for product specifications.
• Create eye-catching visuals for social media, emails, websites, and campaigns.
• Assist with brainstorming for marketing campaigns, content calendar, and potential product ideas.
• Able to work independently, stay organized, and meet deadlines.
• Communicate scheduling needs.
• Learn new tools and skills as needed.
• At least one in-person meeting per week.
• As an independent contractor, you will manage your own schedule, invoicing, and tax obligations.
