Digital Content & Social Media Lead (Youth Events / Video) โ Catholic Youth & Young Adults (London)
We run a thriving Catholic Youth Service and a large young adult community in London, hosting weekly gatherings, formation nights, retreats, social events, and major diocesan youth initiatives. We are looking for a creative, proactive and reliable Digital Content & Social Media Lead who can help us capture the joy, depth and energy of what God is doing among young people and young adults. This is a freelance, term-time role averaging approximately 15 hours per week across 40 weeks per year.
Requirements
The Role:
- Hybrid role combining in-person content capture, video editing, full social media management, and publishing content scheduling and campaign coordination.
- Ownership of Instagram and Facebook presence, representing youth and young adult communities with engaging, joyful and high-quality content.
- Weekly rhythm:
- Every Thursday evening โ attend our weekly young adult gathering (approx. 2โ3 hours) to film reels, clips, testimonies, atmosphere, and key moments.
- Regular Saturdays โ attend selected youth events, retreats, training days, and community gatherings (typically a few hours).
- Remaining time used flexibly for:
- Editing reels and short-form video content.
- Posting all Instagram and Facebook content.
- Uploading and scheduling flyer graphics supplied by the designer.
- Writing captions, hashtags, and story text.
- Creating stories, highlights, and countdowns.
- Maintaining a clear term-time content calendar.
- Coordinating event promotion before, during, and after each gathering.
- Helping build momentum around retreats, formation nights, and key liturgical seasons.
- Ensuring that every major youth and young adult moment is beautifully and consistently reflected online.
What weโre looking for:
- Strong video and photo instincts.
- Understanding of how to create engaging reels and short-form social content.
- Ability to spot authentic, joyful moments in live events.
- Confidence in editing quickly for Instagram/Facebook.
- Ability to independently manage posting schedules and social media rhythm.
- Understanding of youth and young adult culture.
- Ability to work independently and reliably.
- Comfort in a faith-based environment.
- Ideally has experience with events, community, education, church, charity, or youth-facing brands.
Essential Skills
- Filming vertical content for reels.
- Short-form editing.
- Instagram and Facebook management.
- Caption writing and story posting.
- Scheduling social content.
- Confidence working at live events with people.
- Strong eye for authentic moments and visual storytelling.

- Light photography skills.
Practical Details
- Freelance role, approx. 15 hours per week during term time (40 weeks per year).
