Contract Graphic Designer (Project-Based)

The Los Angeles Fire Department (LAFD) Foundation is seeking a skilled graphic designer to support our annual signature events and communications materials. The main focus will be on creating all necessary designs for our annual Valor Awards, including a multi-page printed program, print and digital invitations, event collateral, signage, slides, and digital assets. The designer will work closely with our team to ensure brand consistency and visually connect our storytelling across all materials. Additional responsibilities include preparing print-ready files, coordinating with vendors, and providing ongoing design support for one-pagers, donor materials, or updates to existing collateral as needed. The project has multiple deadlines leading up to the Valor Awards ceremony in November 2026.

$3,500 - $7,000

The event takes place on the field at Dodger Stadium each year, so graphic work would include various designs in-line with the stadium’s specs and screen sizes, from slideshows that play in VIP suites to outfield and banner graphics.

The LAFD Foundation stands in the gap between what the city funds and what firefighters need to do their jobs safely, effectively, and efficiently. The LAFD Foundation measures success by how prepared, safe, and equipped our firefighters are. Our team is seeking a talented graphic designer to serve as a creative partner supporting our annual signature events and select communications materials. This role is primarily project-based, with the largest engagement centered around our annual Valor Awards, as well as occasional design support throughout the year for the Foundation and the LAFD.
