Walla Walla Community College is accepting applications to fill the part-time role of Social Media and Content Specialist on the Walla Walla Campus.

General Responsibilities:
The part-time position plays a role in advancing the college’s mission, focusing on access, opportunity, and community impact.
- Expanding access and awareness: Promoting programs and financial aid to make college attainable for students.
- Strengthening community connection: Social media highlights partnerships and local impact.
- Supporting enrollment and retention goals: Guides students through the enrollment process.
- Humanizing the college experience: Creates a sense of belonging through storytelling.
- Ensuring brand clarity and trust: Provides accurate, consistent messaging.
- Amplifying institutional priorities: Communicates new programs and initiatives effectively.
Essential Functions:
- Develop and write content aligned with the college’s brand identity.
- Plan, create, and schedule engaging content for various platforms.
- Produce photo and video content showcasing the college’s community and campus.
- Collaborate with various departments for content development and promotion.
- Create performance reports to track social media analytics.
Requirements
Competencies
- Strong storytelling and visual communication skills.
- Understanding of current social media trends.
- Ability to maintain brand voice.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to engage respectfully with a diverse community.
Required Qualifications:
- Associate’s degree in marketing, communications, or related field; or equivalent experience.
- Experience managing social media accounts.
- Strong writing and editing skills.
- Experience creating content with mobile devices or basic editing tools.
Preferred/Desired Qualifications:
- Experience in higher education or nonprofit communications.
- Familiarity with social media scheduling and analytics tools.
- Basic photography and video editing skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and manage projects.
Conditions/Terms of Employment
This part-time temporary position (up to 17 hours per week) is located at the Walla Walla Campus. Responsibilities include both fieldwork across the campus and standard office work. Flexible schedule with occasional evening coverage may be required. Travel to event locations will be necessary. Vacation, sick leave, and personal leave benefits are available on a pro-rated basis. Acceptance of lawful authorization documentation within three days of employment is required. Criminal background check may be conducted, and participation in direct deposit is required. WWCC is a tobacco-free campus.
