Job Description

PPG Events is seeking a Contract Web UI/UX Designer to help design the next version of our website. This project-based contract focuses on website strategy, user experience, visual design, responsive layouts, and a lightweight starter brand guide. The website aims to serve both B2B (publishers, partners) and B2C (players, attendees) audiences, ensuring that each can quickly find the services and information pertinent to them.

Requirements

The ideal candidate should be a mid-level web UI/UX designer or an experienced freelance designer with a strong portfolio that showcases web design work, particularly for content-heavy websites with clear conversion paths and reusable templates. Candidates should have

• Experience with event websites, B2B service websites, or community-focused web designs.
• Figma handoff experience for developers or internal teams.
• Knowledge of mobile-first responsive web design principles.
• Design experience incorporating accessibility, SEO, and usability best practices.
• Experience creating media-heavy layouts including photography and video.

Experience with trading card games or competitive gaming is a plus but not required. The designer should possess an understanding of web design constraints and be capable of organizing files for clean implementation.

Implementation Notes

The project is designed to be implemented in-house, possibly using WordPress with Elementor or a React/Next.js setup, depending on internal preferences. This role focuses on design, UX, and responsive layouts without any coding expectations.

Project Deliverables

The primary deliverable is a website design package in Figma or a comparable tool, including: UX direction, homepage wireframe and high-fidelity design, B2B and B2C templates, mobile-first designs, navigation structure, and a lightweight starter brand guide covering color palettes and typography.

Project Structure

This is a project-based contract for the website overhaul, collaborating with the PPG Events marketing manager. The role is remote, preferably in line with Eastern Time.
