Jr Public Relations and Social Media Coordinator

Plush Marketing Agency is looking for a motivated, detail-obsessed, and highly personable Jr PR and Social Media Coordinator to join our team. This role will bridge the gap between traditional public relations and modern digital influence, engaging in sharp media outreach as well as supporting the social media division. The position starts as a freelance opportunity with a direct path to part-time employment for a self-starter who executes flawlessly.

Requirements

• Education: Must hold a degree in Public Relations, Communications, or a related field.
• Location & Travel: Ideal candidates should live in or near Columbia, MD, or between Columbia, MD and Washington, DC, and be willing to travel to the office in Fulton, MD for on-site shoots.
• Detail-Oriented: Must be meticulous and responsible, triple-checking names, links, and formatting.
• Self-Starter: Should be a natural self-starter, owning tasks and projects from start to finish.
• Personable: Must enjoy connecting with people, pitching stories, and maintaining relationships.
• Social Media Savvy: Understanding of the influencer landscape and shareable content is essential.

Core Duties

• Press Release Writing: Crafting sharp press releases and managing their distribution.
• Media List Building: Researching and updating strategic media lists.
• Pitch Writing & Outreach: Creating tailored email pitches for journalists and editors.
• Monitoring & Tracking: Monitoring client brand mentions and media coverage.
• Performance Reporting: Compiling analytical monthly reports on PR placements and social metrics.
