Job Description

8AM Creative is looking for a talented Freelance Creative Designer to support a wide variety of branding, digital, web, and marketing projects. We’re seeking someone who has exceptional graphic design skills and can elevate a creative brief beyond expectations. The ideal candidate should be comfortable working within established brand guidelines while also pushing those systems to create fresh and compelling work. This is a remote freelance contractor position with hourly work, offering the opportunity for an ongoing relationship or a full-time offer.

Requirements

What We’re Looking For

• Strong portfolio demonstrating excellent graphic design across multiple industries and styles.
• Experience with editorial and presentation layout design.
• Experience designing websites, landing pages, or user interfaces.
• Excellent typography, composition, color, and visual hierarchy.
• Ability to think conceptually— not just execute directions, but improve upon them.
• Ability to take ownership of projects while incorporating feedback gracefully.
• Strong attention to detail and craftsmanship.
• Excellent communication and time management skills.

Bonus Skills

• Motion graphics and animation.
• Illustration.
• Icon design.
• Brand identity development.
• UI/UX design.
• Figma.
• Adobe After Effects.
• HTML/CSS familiarity.
• AI-assisted creative workflows.

Software

• Figma.
• Adobe Illustrator.
• Adobe Photoshop.
• Adobe InDesign.
• After Effects (a plus).

Additional Information

Remote Work
Our studio is based in Austin, Texas (Central Time). While we’ll collaborate during overlapping business hours, we are also interested in freelancers who work in other time zones. Having designers working while our core team is offline helps us keep projects moving and shortens turnaround times.
