Job Description

Bowhead seeks an experienced graphic designer to join the NAVAIR Command Communication Team. This is a temporary role where the graphic designer will provide timely multi-media, desktop publishing, and presentation support to meet NAVAIR Corporate Communication Department requirements.

Responsibilities

• Meet with customers to determine the scope of the project.
• Understand the message the design should portray.
• Create images that identify or convey a message.
• Develop graphics to illustrate organizational principles on websites and in print.
• Select colors, images, text style, and layout.
• Present the design for approval.
• Incorporate changes recommended by clients into the final design.
• Review designs for errors.

The graphic designer shall provide multi-media support for digital media using appropriate software including but not limited to: Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Acrobat, Adobe Illustrator, and Microsoft PowerPoint. Content shall be in accordance with appropriate style guides, including but not limited to Associated Press, Navy, and NAVAIR styles.

Qualifications

Education:

• BS or BA degree in graphic design or a related field.
• Allowable Substitution: AS or AA degree in graphic design and two (2) years of experience.
• Experience: At least three (3) years of experience.
• Experienced in Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, PC and Mac operating systems, and graphic design.
• Additional tasking involves working with HTML and web tools to design and publish messaging via email and web portals. Sharepoint development knowledge is a plus.

CLEARANCE REQUIRED: Must be able to obtain a Secret Security Clearance.
