Job Description:

~ Role Purpose ~

To own the end-to-end design direction and quality bar for J.Hilburn’s full digital sales tools suite, including the iOS Stylist App, digital product presentation, product sales tools, and CRM tools. This role involves framing ambiguous problems, overseeing outcomes, governing the shared design system, and mentoring the design team while collaborating with Product Management and Engineering leadership.

~ Key Accountability Areas ~

- **Design Direction & Craft:** Own design direction for the digital sales tools, ensuring intuitive experiences that improve Stylist productivity and adhere to Apple’s Human Interface Guidelines. - **Discovery & Outcome Ownership:** Lead discovery into Stylist workflows, reducing order-processing errors, and creating evidence-backed recommendations. - **Cross-Functional Influence & Team Craft:** Partner with teams across the organization to ensure consistent brand integrity and design quality, mentoring other designers. - **Delivery & Quality Standards:** Own delivery and quality metrics, aiming for significant improvements in app speed and accessibility. - **Design System Ownership:** Govern the shared design system to enhance quality and document major design decisions. - **Personal Effectiveness:** Take accountability for personal development and seek feedback to improve effectiveness in the role.

Requirements:

**Education:** - Bachelor’s degree in design, human-computer interaction, or a related field preferred; equivalent professional experience considered. **Work Experience:** - 5+ years of professional product/UI-UX design experience, particularly with native iOS applications. - A portfolio demonstrating ownership of shipped mobile products with measurable design impact. - Experience in planning and running user research and usability testing, translating insights into design improvements. - Proficiency in mobile-first responsive design and knowledge of accessibility standards (e.g., WCAG 2.1 AA). **Technical Skills:** - Knowledge of iOS design patterns, Apple’s Human Interface Guidelines, and current UI trends. - Mastery of Figma and familiarity with Sketch and Adobe XD. - Advanced skills in interaction design, motion/animation, and prototyping tools. - Ability to articulate design decisions and lead alignment across teams.
