Job Description
Dream Three is a story studio producing genre-spanning narratives across film and television, theater and live events, publishing, music, digital, and immersive formats.
The company is seeking a hands-on freelance Social Media Manager to create and manage compelling content for its projects and brands. The role involves identifying strong moments in existing material, developing original concepts, editing and packaging assets, and managing content through approval, publication, and performance review.
This is an execution-focused individual contributor role requiring strong creative judgment, technical craft, organization, and dependable follow-through. The Social Media Manager will work within Dream Three’s brand direction and approval guidelines while owning the editorial approach and day-to-day delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop practical content calendars, source selections, original concepts, and editorial proposals based on approved brand direction.
- Select moments from existing material and create short-form video and other social assets.
- Prepare captions, titles, covers, thumbnails, links, tags, metadata, accessibility elements, and platform-specific versions.
- Plan and capture lightweight original or event content when included in the agreed scope.
- Prepare review materials, consolidate feedback, manage approved versions, and keep the approval process organized.
- Schedule and publish authorized content across the correct brand channels, verifying all details and live results.
- Manage routine comments and messages during agreed coverage windows, escalating sensitive, commercial, or reputational issues.
- Track channel and content performance and provide concise monthly recommendations for future testing and improvement.
- Maintain source files, project files, publishing records, and access documentation while flagging permission or security concerns.
Measures of Success
- Establish a consistent weekly workflow with clear priorities, review-ready content, and timely publication.
- Provide clear stakeholder updates, realistic deadlines, and work aligned with each brand’s voice and approval boundaries.
- Create content with strong hooks, accurate context, purposeful pacing, and clear audience relevance.
- Use performance insights to improve future content and publishing decisions.
- Plan realistically, identify capacity constraints early, and align output with agreed scope, materials, and revision requirements.
Requirements
- Experience managing the end-to-end social content workflow, from concept development or source selection through production, approval, publishing, engagement, and analysis.
- Ability to create original social content and repurpose existing material across multiple platforms and deliverables.
- Strong understanding of platform-native short-form storytelling, including hooks, pacing, editing, and audience behavior.
- Strong writing skills and the ability to adapt accurately to different brand voices.
- Practical analytical judgment and the ability to turn performance data into specific content or publishing improvements.
- Professional discretion, organization, adaptability, attention to detail, and reliable follow-through.
- Ability to communicate clearly, meet deadlines, manage approvals, and respond constructively to creative feedback.
- Ability to recognize promising ideas and recommend stronger alternatives when content is not performing.
Tools and Technical Skills
- Adobe Premiere Pro.
- Photoshop, Canva, or equivalent tools for supporting creative assets.
- Frame.io, Dropbox, Asana, Slack, and designated social publishing platforms.
- Meta Business tools, TikTok Business Center, and YouTube Studio within assigned permissions.
Preferred Experience
- Experience working across multiple brands, entertainment projects, or public-facing brands.
- Experience editing comedy, conversations, interviews, or podcast content.
- Skills in thumbnail design or simple motion graphics.
Additional Details
- Engagement: Freelance 1099 contract; part-time, hourly.
- Compensation: $35–$45 per hour.
- Scope: The engagement begins with one brand and an agreed workload, set of deliverables, and service windows. Additional work may be offered based on performance, capacity, and mutual fit.
- Location: Remote in approved U.S. and international locations, or hybrid in New York City or Los Angeles. Collaboration and on-site capture requirements will be agreed upon for each engagement.
- Term: Initial engagement and renewal terms will be agreed upon in writing. This is a nonexclusive freelance opportunity.
- Flexibility: Evening or weekend coverage, capture dates, travel, and related expenses will be agreed upon in advance.
- Start Date: As soon as mutually agreed.
- Eligibility: Applicants must be legally authorized to provide the agreed-upon services from their work location.
