Job Description

The Apricots Media is seeking a Social Media Manager to support and grow consumer packaged goods (CPG) client accounts. This role works closely with the current Social Media Manager, CEO/Creative Director, and internal creative team to turn social strategy into effective day-to-day execution.

The Social Media Manager will oversee or support content planning, publishing, community management, client communication, reporting, launches, and campaign execution across platforms including Instagram, TikTok, and Facebook. The role focuses on using social media to drive brand recognition, product discovery, community building, retail visibility, launches, and business growth—not simply filling content calendars.

  • Develop and manage monthly content plans, calendars, workflows, approvals, and publishing schedules.
  • Write and refine captions, hooks, calls to action, Stories, and platform-specific copy.
  • Adapt creative and messaging for each platform rather than relying on cross-posting.
  • Manage community engagement, including comments, conversations, and proactive interactions.
  • Identify relevant trends, cultural moments, and platform opportunities.
  • Coordinate with photographers, videographers, creators, editors, and production team members.
  • Review content for accuracy, brand consistency, formatting, product details, retailer information, tags, and links.
  • Support product launches, retail announcements, promotions, campaigns, and creator initiatives.
  • Manage client feedback, approvals, deadlines, updates, and next steps.
  • Monitor performance across reach, engagement, saves, shares, clicks, and audience growth.
  • Translate analytics into actionable recommendations and recurring reports.
  • Participate in client meetings and communicate priorities and recommendations clearly.

Success in the role means staying ahead of deadlines, maintaining organized accounts, communicating proactively, identifying opportunities, and taking ownership while knowing when to escalate. Content should be accurate, timely, intentional, and increasingly effective in strengthening each client’s social presence.

Requirements

  • 2–4 or more years of experience managing social media for brands, agencies, or consumer businesses.
  • Strong experience with Instagram and TikTok.
  • Experience managing multiple accounts or brands simultaneously.
  • Excellent copywriting and communication skills.
  • Strong understanding of short-form video, social-first creative, platform trends, and content formats.
  • Ability to adapt brand voice and messaging for different audiences.
  • Strong organizational and project-management skills.
  • Experience with content calendars, approvals, scheduling, publishing, and reporting.
  • Ability to interpret social analytics and turn findings into practical recommendations.
  • High attention to detail.
  • Comfort communicating directly with clients.
  • Proactive, independent, and able to identify opportunities, problems, and next steps.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with an existing social, creative, and production team.

Preferred Experience

Experience with food, beverage, wellness, beauty, retail, DTC, or other consumer packaged goods brands is strongly preferred. Candidates should understand how social content can support:

  • Brand recognition and product education
  • Retail visibility and product discovery
  • Product launches and purchase consideration
  • Creator partnerships and UGC
  • Community building
  • A balance of polished branded content and native, culturally relevant social content

Additional Skills and Tools

Experience with the following is a plus:

  • Notion
  • Meta Business Suite
  • TikTok publishing and analytics
  • Canva
  • CapCut or basic short-form video editing
  • Influencer and creator coordination

  • Social listening and analytics
  • Retail and DTC brands
  • Paid social collaboration
