Having experienced a broad range of musical genres as a performer (Keyboard/Brass/Vocal/Conducting), I turned my attention to composition. Having written works for Orchestra, Chamber/Jazz/Indie and Choral ensembles I’m developing my style. I’ve performed the Elgar Enigma Variations and Williams’ gorgeous work, Hymn for the Fallen. In a recent commission for a local Orchestra, I created a sweeping 8 bar phrase which reminds me of Williams writing for Dances with Wolves. Having a daughter in the Canadian military forces, gives me a personal respect for this work. As a French horn player from early days, I’m aware of the significance British military music in the culture & development of Concert Band literature. I’m very interested in this work.
