I am Karen Locklin, a composer and performer with a lifelong love of music. From early piano lessons and school ensembles to leading composers and teaching across borders, I have pursued a creative life that blends performance, education, and collaboration. I am passionate about nurturing young musicians, building inclusive programs like UPBEAT, and creating original works that connect with audiences of all ages.
Across Canada and abroad, I have taught, performed, and written for choirs, orchestras, and theatre productions, including experiences in Kuwait and the UAE. My goal is to cultivate expressive, imaginative musical voices in students and communities, using a wide range of genres and a collaborative approach to make music accessible and joyful for everyone.
