I am Petra van Tendeloo, a Belgian soprano and music educator focusing on classical and contemporary music. I trained at the Municipal Music Academy of Merksem and at the conservatories of Antwerp, Maastricht and Aachen under renowned vocal coaches. I have performed lead roles in operas such as The Turn of the Screw by Britten, Bastien et Bastienne by Mozart, and Lulu by Berg, and I have recorded with ensembles including Vox Temporis and Prima La Musica. After a five-year residency in Portugal where I performed with pianist Nicholas McNair, I founded my own music school sixteen years ago. I developed a unique technique based on spontaneity and intuition, and I now blend my classical background with modern styles, while also creating arrangements of contemporary Flemish works from artists like Camille and Pommelien Thijs. I currently reside in Bétera, near Valencia, Spain, and I continue to teach and perform.
