Portfolio Case Study: Web Development & E-Commerce Integration for Delisha Bakery Café

Project Overview

Delisha Bakery Café is a family-led, halal culinary concept in Hagerstown, Maryland. The café uniquely blends global traditions, featuring Parisian pâtisseries, Korean loose-leaf teas, Jamaican patties, and specialty espresso under one roof.

The objective of this project was to build a highly responsive, visually immersive web application that captures the café’s multicultural identity, drives digital revenue through online ordering, and automates high-value catering and custom cake lead generation.

Technical & Functional Breakdown

1. Dynamic Digital Menu Architecture

To accommodate a vast menu of over 200 items, I designed a streamlined, highly categorized UI that allows users to filter and browse effortlessly.

  • The Croffle (Signature): 11 variations of laminated croissant-waffles.
  • Loose-Leaf Teas: 48 curated K-drama loose-leaf selections.
  • Beverages: 97 specialty hot and cold drinks, including Korean strawberry lattes.
  • Baked Goods: 41 items including cake-in-a-jar, gourmet cookies, and pastries.
  • Dietary Focus: Fully Halal kitchen line with dedicated Vegan and Gluten-Free options.

2. E-Commerce & Mobile App Integration

  • Instant Conversion Paths: Positioned “Order Online” calls-to-action prominently across the global navigation to eliminate friction.
  • App Ecosystem Connectivity: Built dedicated promotional touchpoints to drive user downloads for the café’s native mobile application.

3. Automated B2B Catering Intake System

I engineered an interactive, multi-field catering booking engine to pre-qualify inbound event leads.

4. Custom Cake Consulting Workflow

Custom designs require high-touch communication, so I implemented a brief-to-order pipeline. It educates the user on production constraints (e.g., 5–7 day lead times, minimum order sizes) and funnels them directly to a kitchen consultation via phone or email.

5. Media & Local SEO Optimization

  • In-House Visual Gallery: Designed an asymmetric image grid optimized for fast-loading, high-resolution photography.
  • Local Discovery: Fully integrated Google Maps routing, dynamic operating hours, click-to-call functionality, and social links to maximize the local search footprint.

The Results

The final deployment achieved a perfect balance of localized brand storytelling and high-converting UX design. By transforming Delisha’s web presence from a standard informational site into a functional booking and ordering hub, the café successfully digitized its operations, expanded its B2B catering base, and created a frictionless digital extension of their physical storefront.
