I’m a WordPress and PHP developer focused on building and maintaining complex WordPress plugin ecosystems, including REST API integrations, Gutenberg/admin enhancements, and multisite setups.

About

I’m a WordPress and PHP developer focused on building and maintaining complex WordPress plugin ecosystems, including REST API integrations, Gutenberg/admin enhancements, and multisite setups. I’ve worked on end-to-end product plugin delivery—debugging, developing custom functionality, writing clean and maintainable code, and coordinating releases through Git workflows, testing, documentation, and staging validation.

I’m also a performance-minded engineer: I diagnose Core Web Vitals and PageSpeed bottlenecks (asset delivery, caching, CDN behavior, LCP, and JS/CSS impact) and then apply root-cause fixes through targeted configuration changes or patches. Alongside development, I provide technical service and escalations, produce root-cause reports for hard defects, and improve reliability through security best practices like nonces, input sanitization, and output escaping.

Multilingual Production Form Workflows in Four Languages

Summary

Production Forminator form flows delivered and verified in English, French, German and Italian.

Solution

Each language version was built and checked as a real user journey — field logic, validation, notifications and the payment path — so non-English customers get the same working experience as the English original, not a translated afterthought.

Houzez Property Dashboard — Search, Filters and Agent Tools

Summary

Advanced property-listing features for a Houzez-based real estate site, built the way the parent theme expects to be extended.

Solution

Advanced listing search and filters, property-management controls and agent contact actions — delivered through parent-theme-aligned template overrides, so theme updates stay safe and the dashboard feels native, not bolted on.

Ordering and Plan Workflow — Gravity Forms Meets WooCommerce

Summary

A structured ordering flow that connects a custom post type for plan details, a Gravity Forms front end and WooCommerce checkout.

Solution

Plan data lives in a dedicated custom post type. Customers configure their order through Gravity Forms, and the flow hands a clean, priced order into WooCommerce — no manual re-entry, no spreadsheet in the middle.

ElasticPress Product Search with Image-and-Price Autosuggest

Summary

A WooCommerce search upgrade that shows matching products — with thumbnails and prices — the moment a shopper starts typing.

Challenge

Default WordPress product search sends shoppers to a results page and makes them work to find the right item. On a real catalog that friction costs sales: customers cannot tell similar products apart from titles alone, and slow full-page searches break the shopping flow.

Solution

I built the autosuggest experience on ElasticPress:

  • Indexed product data in Elasticsearch for fast, relevant matching
  • Returned product images and prices directly in the autosuggest dropdown
  • Presented results as the shopper types, with no full-page reload
  • Kept the result format visual, so similar products can be compared at a glance

Result

Shoppers can identify the right product before they ever leave the page — a search box that behaves like a sales assistant instead of a filing cabinet.

Packing-Slip Integration with Product Thumbnails and Code 128 Barcodes

Summary

A WooCommerce packing-slip integration that generates warehouse-ready slips with product thumbnails and scannable Code 128 barcodes.

Challenge

Warehouse staff packing orders from plain text slips had to match products by name alone — slow and error-prone when products look alike. The slips needed to show what each item looks like and carry a barcode that scanners could read reliably.

Solution

I designed and built the integration around a clean API flow:

  • Structured the data passed to the packing-slip output: order, items and product imagery
  • Rendered product thumbnails next to each line item for instant visual checking
  • Generated Code 128 barcodes for reliable scanning at the packing bench
  • Kept the integration modular, so the slip layout can change without touching order logic

Result

Packing slips that warehouse staff can verify visually and scan mechanically — fewer wrong-item checks, and a document that matches how the packing process actually works.

Itemized PayPal Checkout for Forminator Without Touching Core

Summary

A custom integration that sends calculated, itemized line items to PayPal from a production Forminator form — built entirely through server-side filters, with zero changes to plugin core.

Challenge

The default payment flow did not give PayPal a clear, calculated breakdown of what the customer was paying for. Editing the plugin directly was not an option: the next Forminator update would erase the work and put a live, revenue-taking form at risk.

Solution

I built the behaviour as a separate, update-safe layer:

  • Calculated line items on the server side from the submitted form values
  • Passed itemized descriptions and amounts to PayPal through Forminator’s server-side filters
  • Kept all custom logic outside plugin core, so Forminator updates remain safe
  • Verified the full flow on the live production form, from submission to PayPal

Result

The form now produces a clear, itemized PayPal checkout that the client can reconcile against submissions — delivered as maintainable custom code that survives plugin updates.

Core Web Vitals & WordPress Speed Optimization

Summary

Root-cause speed work for WordPress sites failing PageSpeed Insights — from WPMU DEV Expert Services engagements where a generic checklist was not enough.

Challenge

Most slow WordPress sites do not have one problem. They have a stack of them: a heavy LCP element, render-blocking CSS, delayed or bloated JavaScript, cache rules fighting the CDN, and plugin or theme conflicts hiding underneath. Installing another optimization plugin usually makes it worse.

Solution

Each engagement started with diagnosis, not settings:

  • PageSpeed Insights and Core Web Vitals analysis, backed by waterfall inspection
  • LCP root-cause work: the actual element, its loading path and what blocks it
  • Critical CSS generation and asset optimization tuned to the real theme
  • Delay and defer decisions for JavaScript, checked against interactive features
  • Page cache, object cache and CDN behaviour verified as one system
  • Plugin, theme, hosting and third-party causes separated before any change

Depending on the root cause, delivery was either a precise configuration change or a targeted code patch — including temporary MU-plugin protection for affected sites while a permanent fix was prepared.

Result

Fixes based on an identified root cause and verified after delivery, with the reasoning documented for the site owner — not a random bundle of optimization toggles.

Production Bug Fixes for WordPress Plugins Used at Scale

Summary

Five years of shipping reviewed, production-safe bug fixes for commercial WordPress plugins at WPMU DEV — including SmartCrawl, Forminator, Hustle Pro, Smush, Shipper and Beehive.

Challenge

Bugs in plugins installed on real customer sites are rarely simple. A defect can come from the plugin, the theme, hosting, cache layers or a third-party integration — and a careless fix can break thousands of sites on the next update. Every change has to be diagnosed properly, reviewed and safe to release.

Solution

Working inside established Git and pull-request review workflows, and following WordPress Coding Standards, I delivered targeted fixes such as:

  • Sitemap index pagination corrections in SmartCrawl
  • Gutenberg link-popover compatibility fixes
  • Conditional SEO interface behaviour, shown only when relevant
  • Clean, non-fatal error handling for invalid third-party API credentials
  • Compatibility and defect fixes across PHP, WordPress REST APIs and Gutenberg interfaces

For escalated cases, I separated plugin behaviour from theme, hosting, cache and third-party causes, protected affected sites with temporary MU-plugin patches, and handed product developers root-cause reports they could act on immediately.

Result

Maintainable, reviewed changes shipped to production plugins — fixed at the root cause, not patched over, and documented so the team could support them long-term.

Email Shield — Multisite Email Governance Plugin for a SaaS Platform

Summary

A network-level custom plugin that gives a WordPress multisite SaaS platform full control over outgoing email, sender reputation and risky tenants — built for Amazon SES and SNS.

Challenge

On a multisite SaaS platform, every subsite sends email through a shared infrastructure. One tenant sending bad mail can damage sender reputation for everyone. The platform needed per-site control, trial-aware limits and an automatic response when bounce or complaint rates became dangerous — without giving network admins manual work for every incident.

Solution

I designed and built Email Shield as a network-activated custom plugin:

  • Classifies marketing and system email through the pre_wp_mail filter before anything is sent
  • Applies per-site and trial-aware sending limits across the network
  • Suspends risky tenants automatically when reputation thresholds are crossed
  • Processes authorized Amazon SNS bounce and complaint events through a secured REST API endpoint
  • Includes SES tenant provisioning and FluentCRM sender controls
  • Gives super admins a network dashboard and weekly reputation reports
  • Stores its data with WordPress options and object cache — no custom database tables
  • Uninstalls cleanly, leaving no orphaned data behind

Result

Delivered as a production release with full technical documentation, a CHANGELOG and a staging test plan, then promoted to production after member validation on staging.

Deliverables

Custom plugin, REST webhook endpoint, network admin dashboard, weekly reporting, documentation, staging test plan and clean uninstall routine.
