This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a project that could have tremendous impact on the lives of children across the country. I work for an education charity which aims to improve English teaching across the country. One strand of the support we offer is to create lessons for teachers to free up their time so that they can really concentrate on how to help their students. These fully resourced lessons are based on the latest cognitive science research and our charity has an excellent track record in impacting student success.

I am currently developing a grammar program to ensure students are able to be successful writers. The program requires writing stimuli. These need to be simple, black and white pen drawings which make it very clear what is happening in a given scene. It is also crucial that students can construct a narrative out of the images so we will need a variety - some to be one image only and some to act almost like images for a comic strip so that students can write a story based on them (2-3 images as a set).

We are currently looking for 50 images (considering a ‘set’ as one image), half of which need to be produced by the 1st June this year. A set should take up about 3/4 of an A4 page. For the stand alone images, the size should be about A5. On request, I can provide a scan of the sort of image we are looking for.

The pictures will need to be delicately pitched to the students to ensure there is just the right amount of challenge in inferring from them. The project therefore requires someone who is prepared to follow a brief to the letter. This program will be delivered to thousands of students, which means that you will have a significant impact on children’s lives.
