Job Description:

The Institute for Nonprofit News is seeking a freelance graphic designer to work with the Communications team in promoting nonprofit news to various audiences. The designer will create visuals that drive engagement with INN programs and events, develop event materials, and create graphics for social media and newsletters. They will also collaborate with staff to produce materials such as annual reports and research reports.

Requirements:

• Resides in the U.S. and available for virtual meetings before 5pm ET
• Received design education or training
• Enjoys working remotely and independently within a collaborative culture
• Has at least 5 years of professional graphic design experience
• Follows news and trends affecting the news industry
• Can adapt to external opportunities
• Has worked in a variety of media
• Available to work approximately 8 hours per week on INN tasks

Rate:

$125/hour. The consultant will receive a 1099 form for tax purposes.

About the Assignment:

INN is celebrating its 15th anniversary in 2024 and is seeking a visual partner to tell the story of the organization, its network of newsrooms, and innovations in the nonprofit news field. The graphic designer will develop new visuals that drive engagement with INN programs, events, and expertise. Special design projects in 2024 include updating the Nonprofit News Awards logo, creating a logo for the annual INN Days conference, and making recommendations for visually tying the NewsMatch program to INN.
