Job Description

This OPS position is located in Strozier Library and reports to the Graphic Designer for FSU Libraries. The responsibilities include designing posters, flyers, handouts, digital signage, and other promotional materials for University Libraries’ events and initiatives. Assisting in the creation of social media graphics for multiple channels and participating in brainstorming sessions and weekly meetings to discuss ideas for promotion. The role also involves preparing artwork for print production, assisting with the design and printing of various projects, and assisting with photography for events and social media.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalency. Knowledge of graphic design theories and principles such as typography, page layout, and color theory. Experience with the Mac operating system. Demonstrates strong skills using Adobe Creative Suite CC (Illustrator, InDesign, and Photoshop). Excellent communication and customer service skills. Demonstrates attention to detail, organization, creativity, and self-motivation ability to work collaboratively as a member of the Marketing & Communications team, and ability to arrive on time and work all scheduled shifts. Ability to learn new software and design skills. Ability to demonstrate time management skills, balance multiple projects, and adhere to deadlines. Knowledge of basic marketing and branding concepts. Ability to learn general library operations and resources.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience working in a design and/or marketing environment.

Anticipated Salary Range

$14/hr
