Job Description
Harding Display Corp (HDC) is a leading provider of point-of-sale and in-store marketing solutions located in Scarborough, Ontario. As a family-owned business serving clients in Canada and the U.S. since 1927, HDC prides itself on its customer-focused approach and innovative display designs. The company seeks a Prepress Graphic Designer responsible for preparing digital files for print production and ensuring they meet quality standards and print specifications. This role involves collaboration with internal teams and clients, attention to detail, and the use of specialized software and tools.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, candidates should have:
- Education in graphic arts and a minimum of two yearsโ experience in the graphic arts industry, specifically in large format digital print or production art.
- Expertise in Adobe Creative Cloud, especially Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign.
- Proficiency in MS Office products.
- Understanding of various substrates (corrugated, plastics, adhesive, paper, litho) and their use in large format digital print production.
- Knowledge of how to prepare artwork for print processes and finding creative solutions for complex layouts that adhere to client style guides.
- A positive attitude with the ability to work independently in a fast-paced team environment.
- Organizational skills, creativity, logical thinking, and strong attention to detail.
- Understanding of PDF workflow.
- Ability to read and interpret work orders and procedure manuals.
- Effective communication skills with vendors and employees.
- Capability to meet tight timelines and work collaboratively as a team player.
Further, experience working with ERP systems is considered an asset.
