Job Description

URM Stores, Inc. is looking for a Part Time Graphic Designer with a solid foundation of graphic design, who is eager and willing to learn. This designer will build grocery ads for member stores and support all creative needs for the organization, including presentations and print collateral materials like posters, flyers, and mailers. The candidate should be well versed in current graphic design software including InDesign, Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and Acrobat.

Requirements

Qualifications:

• Minimum AA Degree in Graphic Design.
• Well versed in graphic design software, including InDesign, Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and Acrobat.
• Experience with page layout & preparing files for press.
• Experience of four-color process printing (CMYK).
• Mac knowledge is a plus.
• Good balance of attention to detail, proofreading, and composure under pressure.

Responsibilities:

• Assist with layout and design of grocery ad pages.
• Input text and photos into InDesign templates.
• Output to PDF for press and proofing.
• Use spell check to ensure proper spelling of ad information.
• Pay extreme attention to detail and maintain high-level proofreading skills.
• Stay organized and understand ad calendars and deadlines.
• Cross-train with other team members.
• Create miscellaneous bag stuffers, signage & newspaper ads.
• Download, resize, clip, and manipulate photos in Photoshop.
• Incorporate themes and seasonal artwork as needed.
• Create low resolution PDFs for online viewing.
• Post PDFs to websites.
