Job Description

TEGNA Inc. is seeking a creative, results-driven, and highly organized Social Media Marketing Lead to drive our social media strategy, grow our online presence, and engage our audiences across platforms. The ideal candidate should be a strategic thinker with proven experience in developing and executing successful social media campaigns that align with brand goals. This position can be based at any TEGNA station location.

Responsibilities

• Strategy Development: Design and implement comprehensive social media strategies to align with business goals and identify target audience segments.
• Content Creation & Management: Lead the creation, curation, and scheduling of compelling, high-quality content and collaborate with team members to produce engaging posts.
• Campaign Execution: Plan and execute paid and organic social media campaigns to drive brand awareness and optimize campaigns based on performance data.
• Community Engagement: Actively monitor and manage social media channels and foster an engaging online community.
• Analytics & Reporting: Track, analyze, and report on key performance metrics to evaluate campaign effectiveness and adjust strategies accordingly.
• Team Leadership: Mentor and guide junior team members and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
• Stay Updated: Keep up with the latest social media trends, tools, algorithms, and best practices.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• 3+ years of proven experience in social media marketing, with a strong portfolio of successful campaigns.
• Expertise in major platforms like Facebook, Instagram, Twitter (X), LinkedIn, Pinterest, TikTok, and YouTube.
• Proficiency in social media management tools and analytics platforms.
• Strong creative and visual storytelling abilities.
• Excellent communication and writing skills.
• Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and make data-driven decisions.
• Familiarity with SEO, content marketing, and digital advertising best practices.
• Leadership and team collaboration skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with influencer marketing and collaborations.
• Knowledge of graphic design or video editing tools (e.g., Canva, Adobe Suite).
• Previous experience managing a team or leading cross-functional projects.

Pay Range

$65,000 - $85,000 USD
