Job Description

Shape better digital journeys as a Digital UX/UI Designer - Pensions. This is a fixed-term contract role until 31st January 2026. We are looking for an experienced UX/UI Designer to join our Pensions Digital team, which is focused on designing, building, and launching market-leading digital experiences for clients. You will play a key role in influencing how new strategic digital products interact and engage with clients throughout their end-to-end journey.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Conducting user research to understand the needs, behaviors, and pain points of pension holders and administrators.
• Analyzing user feedback, usability testing results, and metrics to identify opportunities for improvement.
• Creating wireframes, user flows, and interactive prototypes to visualize design concepts.
• Ensuring design adherence to GDS design principles, including simplicity, clarity, and accessibility.
• Developing visually appealing and consistent user interfaces for digital pension platforms.
• Ensuring compliance with accessibility standards (e.g., WCAG).
• Collaborating closely with product managers, developers, and stakeholders throughout the design process.
• Iterating on design solutions based on user feedback and usability testing results.
• Using agile methodology for rapid prototyping and refining design concepts.

Requirements

Essential qualifications for the role include:

• Demonstrable experience in designing digital journeys with an understanding of design standards, accessibility, and SEO.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to articulate information effectively in front of stakeholders.
• Analytical mindset, comfortable reviewing data to identify challenges in journeys, and recommending solutions.
• Ability to influence wider teams to prioritize customer-centric focus and design.
• Experience in Financial Services, pensions, or a large matrix organization.
• Knowledge of design tools such as Figma & Adobe Suite.
• Experience with the Agile methodology.

Desirable qualifications include:

• Knowledge of Government Design Systems (GDS).
