Job Description

Akkodis is seeking an experienced Graphics Engineer to support our clients Next Generation Avionics team in the Phoenix, AZ location. In this high-impact role, you will contribute to the development of cutting-edge avionics graphics systems, ensuring optimal performance, compliance, and integration within our embedded platforms. You will work on real-time software components with a focus on advanced graphics and visual rendering technologies that support the next wave of aircraft display innovation.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and document software requirements and designs
  • Architect and implement real-time embedded software
  • Perform software integration and verification in avionics environments
  • Contribute to the development of graphics drivers and widget libraries
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver DO-178C compliant software
  • Support A661 server development and integration for cockpit display systems

Requirements

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Computer Science
  • Minimum 6 years of experience in embedded software development
  • Development using Embedded C/C++
  • Hands-on experience with real-time operating systems such as VxWorks, LynxOS, DEOS, or Linux
  • Strong knowledge of graphics driver development and widget libraries
  • Experience with ARINC 661 (A661) server and DO-178C certification standards

Preferred Skills:

  • Minimum 3 years of experience with OpenGL
  • Prior experience with memory and latency management in embedded systems
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent teamwork and communication abilities in cross-disciplinary teams

Compensation and Benefits

Rate Range: $60/hour - $75/hour; the rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors. On-site preferred; Hybrid option available (must be able to be on-site weekly).
