Job Description
We have an exciting opportunity for a Social Media Manager to join Finisterre on a part-time basis. Leading the channel budget and strategy, you will ensure Finisterre’s social media presence supports and delivers against business goals, translating briefs into a channel post plan and strategy that sets up our social media platforms for success. A key focus of the role is managing and supporting the Junior Social Media Executive to ensure content is delivered on time, on brief, and within budget. You’ll review and sign off assets across channels and occasionally step in to create content during high-demand periods. Additionally, you’ll own and maintain the Trade Calendar, lead day-to-day content planning, report weekly on KPIs in trading meetings, and contribute to monthly retrospectives — providing strategic input and making adjustments in response to performance and business priorities.
Requirements
Key Responsibilities:
- Directly responsible for the creation and management of the social media strategy across all organic social channels, including Instagram, Youtube, Tiktok, Pinterest, Linkedin, and Threads.
- Work closely with the Chief Marketing Officer and wider Marketing team to refine and sign off social media strategies.
- Connect with the full marketing team and other parts of the business to develop a deep understanding of all projects, initiatives, and products.
- Maintain a monthly content calendar based on the social strategy.
- Ensure a clear posting schedule is fulfilled by the Junior Social Media Executive.
- Write detailed briefs for the Junior Social Media Executive and Creative team as necessary.
- Manage and analyse the performance of social media channels, producing weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports.
- Communicate pivots to the Junior Social Media Executive in a timely manner.
- Line manage the Junior Social Media Executive to ensure brief completion and provide constructive feedback.
- Manage the social media budget, including tracking and reporting.
- Create content during peak workloads or deadlines.
- Select and coordinate on-shoot creators for seasonal campaigns.
What You’ll Bring To Finisterre:
- 5+ years experience in a multi-channel retail business in a social media role.
- A strong understanding of social media marketing, with evidence of continuous improvement.
- Ability to manage and develop a team.
- Intuitive understanding of all social channels.
- Excitement around AI and its potential applications in the role.
- Excellent self-awareness, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage self and others under pressure.
Additional Information
The successful candidate must, by the start of their employment, have permission to work in the UK. Please note that Finisterre is not licensed to sponsor overseas workers.

We are offering a part-time 22.5-hour permanent contract, based at our Headquarters in Wheal Kitty, St Agnes, Cornwall, with a competitive salary of circa £18,000 - £21,000 (pro-rata based on a FTE of £30,000 - £35,000).
