Job Description
The Social Media Scheduler is a student worker position who will collaborate with the Social Media Manager to represent the Standing for Freedom Center by producing genuine, quality, and informative content for Freedom Center’s social media accounts. The student worker will help create and schedule weekly content that highlights current issues through a Biblical perspective, aimed at assisting others in defending their faith.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
- Connect social media followers to Standing for Freedom Center.
- Provide resources and stories relevant to the goals of the Freedom Center.
- Utilize platforms to inform followers about Biblical perspectives on cultural and societal issues.
- Share information in a trustworthy, credible, and professional manner.
- Raise awareness of the Standing for Freedom Center across various social media platforms.
- Boost audience response by engaging with followers, tracking hashtags, responding to comments, and creating interactive content.
- Report to the Standing for Freedom Center Executive Directors and Liberty University leadership.
- Strictly adhere to Liberty University policies, representing the University exemplarily.
- Work effectively as a team member, embracing and fostering Liberty University’s mission.
Qualifications and Credentials
- Currently enrolled at Liberty University.
- Familiarity with various social media platforms such as Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter.
- Self-starter and goal-oriented professional who adheres to social media guidelines and schedules.
- Personable and able to build working relationships with partners and colleagues.
- Strong grasp of cultural and political issues in the public domain.
- Comfortable being featured on social media channels.
- Demonstrated strong agreement with the mission, policy, and advocacy of the Freedom Center.
- Ability to articulate and defend Liberty University’s unique Christian educational mission and vision.

- Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing to convey clear, well-articulated information.
- Ability to understand, speak, and write English to convey messages and correspond professionally.
- Possess public communication skills to represent Liberty University professionally.

- Computer and scheduling skills.

- Ability to reason, analyze information, and apply judgment to solve routine and complex problems intuitively.
Physical and Sensory Abilities
- Required to travel to local and campus locations.
- May be required to sit for deskwork or type on a keyboard.
- Regularly required to hear and speak effectively for oral communication.
- Regularly required to stand, walk, and climb stairs to navigate the campus.
- Handle materials, reach overhead, kneel, or stoop for business operations.
- Regularly lift 10 or fewer pounds.
Working Conditions
Work Environment
The work environment typically is a climate-controlled and well-lit setting with a moderate noise level. It may also include facilitating outdoor events occasionally.
Driving Requirements
Use of a personal vehicle (or Liberty University vehicles) may be required for travel during work. Proof of a valid Virginia driver’s license, an acceptable DMV record, and liability insurance is necessary.
