Job Description

Divine Purpose Publishing House (DPPH) is seeking a skilled and creative freelance graphic designer to design compelling book covers (front, back, and spine) and visually engaging marketing assets for authors across a wide range of genres. The role is ideal for creatives looking to collaborate with a mission-driven publishing house and is focused on producing clean, professional, and emotionally resonant designs. This is a remote, contract-based position.

Requirements

• Minimum 3 years of experience in professional graphic design
• Strong portfolio showcasing book covers and publishing-related designs
• Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (especially InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator) or equivalent design software
• Skilled in layout, typography, color theory, and visual storytelling
• Responsive and collaborative, with clear communication and a willingness to revise
• Organized and deadline-oriented, able to juggle multiple design projects
• Experience creating print-ready book covers (including spine, front, and back)
• Ability to format designs for print and digital platforms
• Understanding of bleed, trim size, resolution, and color settings (CMYK and RGB)
• Ability to design both static and social media marketing assets
• Familiarity with upload requirements for IngramSpark preferred
• Able to follow branding guidelines and style direction
• Reliable turnaround times and consistent communication
• Experience adapting design styles across different genres and audiences

Location Requirement

Applicants must reside in the Dallas–Fort Worth area. While the role is remote, occasional in-person team-building or creative collaboration opportunities may be offered.

Compensation

This is a freelance contractor role. Compensation is determined per project and varies based on project scope, ranging from $25.00 to $55.00 per hour. Payment details will be discussed per assignment.

Schedule

The position is project-based with deadlines communicated clearly and agreed upon in advance.
