Hard Times/Short Film

I am producing a dark, absurdist comedy short film that combines the tone and style of Uncut Gems, Requiem for a Dream, and Big Mouth. The project centers on a Latina woman confronting her addictions, brought to life through surreal, physical manifestations in her apartment—such as a seductive slice of pizza and a talking dildo. The story uses high-energy editing, quick cuts, overlapping dialogue, and hallucinatory visuals to capture both the chaos and comedic beats. I need a film editor experienced in shaping bold, adult humor and building narrative momentum while handling explicit content and awkward silences for comedic effect. Familiarity with DaVinci Resolve is preferred, and the edit must be completed quickly to meet the screening deadline. This film will premiere at NYFA and is meant as both a festival submission and a proof of concept for future work.
