Job Description

This is a paid freelance and remote position with ScreenRant, the #1 entertainment website that publishes news on movies, TV shows, video games, comic books, music, and more. We are seeking a talented and dependable Graphic Designer to join our creative team on a freelance contract basis. The ideal candidate will have strong visual instincts, excellent design software skills, and a passion for entertainment. Duties include producing a wide range of branded visual assets to support editorial, social media, and marketing initiatives.

Your Responsibilities

• Design custom graphics for articles, social media, and brand campaigns
• Build and maintain modular design templates for consistent, scalable asset production
• Create infographics, overlays, awards, branded visuals, and media kit designs/layouts
• Collaborate closely with editors, designers, and marketing leads to meet content goals
• Add metadata and prep images for upload in CMS, following internal standards
• Ensure all images adhere to copyright policies and brand guidelines
• Take initiative in suggesting new design formats, styles, or workflow improvements
• Be responsive to feedback and eager to refine work through collaborative iteration

Experience and Skills

• Proficient in Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator (or equivalent tools)
• Strong understanding of layout, typography, color, and composition
• Experience designing editorial graphics, logos, social visuals, infographics, and marketing materials
• Ability to build scalable, modular templates for efficient reuse and brand consistency
• Comfortable creating custom awards, overlay designs, and infographic elements
• Knowledge of popular entertainment franchises (movies, TV, gaming, etc.)
• Fast, efficient, and highly organized with strong file management practices
• Proactive, creative thinker with the ability to bring new visual ideas to the table
• Open to feedback and collaborative with both editorial and marketing teams
• Familiarity with image sourcing and copyright-safe practices
• Portfolio or examples of relevant work required
