Job Description
The H.C. Porter Gallery is a multi-level space located in the heart of Historic Downtown Vicksburg, Mississippi, showcasing the work of internationally acclaimed artist H.C. Porter. We are currently seeking a Graphic Design & Print Specialist to join our creative team. This role is ideal for a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual who thrives in a fast-paced, art-focused environment and is passionate about visual storytelling, fine art, and brand-building.
Requirements
- Expert proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (primarily Photoshop)
- Familiarity or interest with Wordpress and Constant Contact is a plus
- Strong artistic ability, especially in basic design principles, with a clear understanding of composition, form, and storytelling.
- Experience or interest in graphic design, branding, and digital asset management is a plus
- Familiarity with fine art printing, color correction, and large-format printers is a plus
- Self-motivated and able to take initiative while balancing multiple creative tasks.
- Demonstrates unquestionable integrity and professionalism in all work and interactions.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines consistently.
- Adaptable and dependable with the ability to work a flexible schedule, including occasional weekends or events as needed.
- Clear communicator who can both follow direction and contribute ideas.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the artist and Gallery Director to develop and maintain visual branding across print, packaging, signage, and digital media.
- Design marketing collateral and email templates that align with the gallery’s identity and exhibitions.
- Assist in website updates, including e-commerce optimization and product enhancements on the gallery’s WordPress site.
- Color correct original artwork and prepare files for fine art reproduction.
- Operate and maintain professional printers; manage ICC profiles and color calibration for museum-quality output.
- Oversee production of giclée prints and ensure quality control.
- Maintain and organize the digital archive, ensuring quick and efficient access to back catalog artwork and exhibition materials.
- Contribute to print marketing strategies, new art arrival launches, and bundling promotions.
